Large BESS Project Provided by Sparq

Sparq’s Nordic team has the honor of delivering a 1MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to a new customer in Sweden. The system is a containerized solution consisting of 4 racks of 253kWh each and is designed to provide backup power for the customer’s facility.

Benefits of BESS

The BESS will provide a number of benefits to the customer, including:

Increased reliability

The BESS will provide backup power in the event of a power outage, helping to ensure that the facility remains operational.

Reduced energy costs

The BESS can be used to store energy during off-peak hours and discharge it during peak hours, helping to reduce the customer’s energy costs.

Improved emissions

The BESS can help to reduce the customer’s reliance on fossil fuels, by storing renewable energy and providing power when needed.

How much power can 1MWh provide?

1MWh is a unit of energy equal to one million watt-hours. This is a significant amount of energy, and can be used to power a variety of applications.

Here are some examples of what 1MWh of energy can be used for:

  • Power a single household for around one month, assuming average consumption.
  • Fully charge an electric car with a range of 3,000 to 4,000 miles.
  • Run two 60-watt lightbulbs nonstop for one year.
